On a PC case fan with black, red ,and yellow connector, this is ground, power, and ';sense';. What is the ';sense'; (yellow wire) for? I just run the fan with black and red and works fine.PC Case fan wiring?
You are correct that you can run the fan at high speed all the time if you want. some people find it annoying to hear the real high pitch squeal continuously. If you leave it on all the time, you are correct that the processor will stay cooler, but you will be wasting energy.
One thing to make sure is the fan running at its highest speed?PC Case fan wiring?
It's for temperature sensing to protect your processor, etc Connect it!!! you need it!!!
